Greed: Episode 2 - Trials of the Children

The family ventures through the dark abandoned temple, large pillars line the halls. The ancient dust on them hides the once polished gold finish. The mother senses something and calls her family to halt. Liquid gold started to ooze down through a crack in the ceiling. The liquid gold had a hypnotic glow, as it puddled in front of the family. The parents grabbed the girl and slowly moved backward. "Prepare your self, my son," the father said. Suddenly the oozed stopped, and withered humanoid lunged from the darkness, the humanoid slurped up the gold fluid. The withered humanoid drank like it had been thirsty for years.

The boy gripped his fist; this act startled the withered humanoid and its eyes glowed gold. The boy let out an energy pulse that barely moved the dust from the floor. The withered humanoid stood up straight, as it did its flesh covering its stomach fell to the floor and made a flop in the puddle of gold. Its jaw soon followed. Gold oozed from the humanoids hand solidifying into a hammer. In a gold flash, the humanoid tried to smash the boy, creating a gold spark where the boy once stood. The humanoid searched for its future victim; the boy had vanished.
The boy comes crashing down from above, forcing the humanoids skull into the ground. Its head cracks and dents the dust covered floor. Gold shards fly from the impact. The humanoids swing his hammer arm, dislocating its shoulder to strike the boy in the midsection. He flies several feet and collides with a pillar, cracking it. The humanoid removes his face from the floor and stares at the stunned boy. The humanoid raised its gold hammer and strolled in to finish the boy.
The boy looked up at the humanoid; the hammer grew larger as he raised it above his head. The boy placed his hands behind his head and thrust himself off the pillar, sliding between the legs of the humanoid. The boy generated an energy mace, with a stiff blow to the side of the knee, he forces the knee to buckle. The humanoids face now nice and low, "See Ya!" he yells as he destroys the humanoids head with a thunderous blow. With a hardened look on his face, the boy walks away from the corpse and rejoins his family. "Good job my boy," says an excited mother.
The father abruptly breaks up the moment by pulling the mother back. He wraps his hands around her and his daughter, he generates a pulse of energy and vanishes. The boy confused, calls out "Mom Dad, Where di." He stops mid-syllable and to turns around. The headless corpse was standing straight up; liquid gold erupted like a guizer from the neck. The boy took a step back, and more withered humanoids appeared from the shadows. Moans of thirst left their mouths followed by dust. The boy frightened by the numbers generates an energy staff and prepares for battle
